Software Engineer II

POSITION SUMMARY:
Widearea Systems is seeking a mid-level software engineer who wants to grow with the company. The position reports to the Lead Engineer. A security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance is mandatory for this position. Some travel is required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with product architect to produce software products
Design software components
Write well-documented programs, unit testing, and turn over the code to QA
Track code revisions in Visual Source Safe/CVS
Digest and analyze product requirements and pass them down to the project team
Define product features, quality metrics and delivery mechanisms based on market requirements
Interact with marketing, sales, customer services, partners and customers

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Visual C, and MFC C++
3+ years of experience in Linux C with MySQL
3+ years of experience in TCP socket programming
3+ years of experience or equivalent in commercial software development
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Must have the flexibility to work across business units assisting in multiple on-going projects
